POSITION SUMMARY: Refining Training and Development is seeking a Corporate Maintenance Training Specialist to fulfill the role of a Site Lead at the LAR (Los Angeles Refinery) . The position is responsible for the coordination of the Maintenance training programs at this location. Applicants with a background in Refining, especially in a Maintenance Craft, and Learning and Development are preferred. The position is based in Los Angeles. Applicants outside the area would be required to relocate. Applicants should have strong communication and organizational skills, be proficient with Microsoft Office products, and be willing to travel approximately 15% of the time to support other remote locations as needed. Strong project management skills and/or experience with instructional design is also highly valued. The position will report to the RT&D Maintenance Training Manager in Findlay, OH. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: + Coordinate the Site Maintenance training program which includes development and delivery of training content, evaluation of the learning transfer, and assessment of the overall impact to the business. + Collaborate with subject matter experts to gain their support, understand their needs, and deliver the training necessary to make the Site successful. + Prepare a detailed training schedule and budget for the Site Maintenance Department that drives increased standardization at the Sites to manage costs and optimize delivery of content. + Champion the continued improvement of the Corporate Maintenance training program at LAR. + Drive efficiency in the maintenance training programs though needs assessments and continual evaluation of training programs. + Communicate the Site needs and opportunities to the Corporate training organization to further drive standardization and improve training synergies + Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with LAR Maintenance leadership and the Training Department to ensure flawless execution of the Maintenance training program. + Ensure internally developed materials are high quality, appropriately maintained and reviewed, and add value to the program. + Support the goals of the Corporate training organization. Be flexible to support other projects and team needs as they arise to keep the larger group nimble and adaptable. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: + Degree: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates or Bachelors preferred. + Major: Applicable Trade School, Engineering disciplines, or Education. + Work Experience: The candidate should have 5+ years of experience within a refining Maintenance organization or learning and development organization. SKILLS: + Computer proficiencies: Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required. + Planning: Ability to critically analyze, organize, plan, and execute a given project is required. + Communication: Ability to effectively communicate plans and needs to Refinery key stakeholders and provide timely and helpful updates as training plans progress. + Presentation skills: Ability to instruct and/or facilitate classroom training is preferred.
