Position Requirements:
  • Layout, install, maintain and repair all electrical equipment and lighting systems including motors, generators, transformers, controls and mechanics.
  • Capable of working on "live" circuits as required.
  • Proficient in bending EMT and rigid conduit.
  • Knowledgeable of the construction of Herman Miller office systems furniture.
  • Ability to read facility drawings including electrical drawings, schematics, and riser diagrams.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter.
  • Must be able to function in a team environment.
  • Must have the ability to assist other skilled trades.
  • General computer skills.
  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years in the trade.
  • Knowledgeable of general building codes.
  • Working voltages of 480, 277, 208, 120.
  • Must have working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders.
  • Must have a State of Michigan Journeyman or Master's license and maintain it.
  • Knowledge of practices, tools, and equipment used in the electrical trade.
  • Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner.
  • Must have the ability to operate lift equipment in a safe, proficient manner and obtain the proper operating licenses.
  • Must have the ability to walk 3-5 miles a day on a variety of walking surfaces, ascend and descend numerous stairways, lift a minimum of 50 lbs., bend, twist, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time.
