Job Description

1. Handle all payroll functions.
2. Process payable and payroll garnishments.
3. Manage Council, Board and Committee stipend payments.
4. Maintain payroll records in accordance with administrative policies.
5. Process vehicle registration payments.
6. Prepare Bank deposits.
7. Set up and maintain vendor, employee, payroll and billing files.
8. Cross train in other accounting functions in order to ensure accounting functions continue in the absence of the Accounting Assistant and Secretary/Receptionist.
9. Reconcile Bank Statements and investment accounts.
10. Participate in Chemehuevi Indian Tribe dedicated events and other duties as assigned include backup for Administrative Assistants.

1. Minimum of AA degree in accounting preferred.
2. Two years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping preferred.
3. Experience working in computer windows environment.

1. Pass Pre-Employment Drug Testing.
2. Comply with Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
3. Background check
4. Ability to attend evening or weekend meetings.
5. Ability to travel.
6. Insurable by Tribe’s insurance carrier.
7. If required, bond acquisition may be required in this postion.
8. Valid Driver’s License
